Thank you for volunteering to referee!  There are 7 steps to complete for a new referee.  Please contact your referee administrator if you have questions.  We have a new registration and learning management system so it is a learning curve for everyone.

1.      Register as a volunteer on www.ayso121.org.  Click on the link in the upper right-hand corner that says “Register Now”. It will take you to a registration application page. Complete only the questions with a red asterisk.  Once you submit the registration information this will automatically start the process for your background check.  This needs to be done for ALL referees EVERY year.  You will then receive an email from STERLING VOLUNTEERS, make sure to look for it in your spam folder as well.  You need to use this email to complete the background check process.  Region 121 will pay the $25 background check fee.

2.     If you are a first-time referee, you will need to take the Safe Haven safety course online.

            a. Go to www.ayso121.org and login using the button in the upper right corner.

To help streamline the process, AYSO has partnered with ApplicantServices.com. Through this process, the cost has been reduced to $20 – $25 per volunteer based on the process you use. If you are fingerprinted at a live AYSO event the cost is $20 and it is $25 at a Live Scan Service Center. Please understand that this specific process has been negotiated specifically for AYSO, so you will need to register via the link provided below to receive this cost discount and to ensure the information is sent to AYSO directly from the California Department of Justice. Referee Scheduler Instructions

AYSO 121 Online Referee Scheduler Instructions

Each week, our referee scheduler needs to fill assignments for all 10U-14U games, with three referee slots per game. To optimize the process, we've set up an ONLINE referee schedule database. Not only will the new online system reduce our scheduling effort, it also allows you the opportunity to view all game assignments, and to schedule yourself into as many slots as desired (and qualified for).

Please help us by using this system for making all of your game requests.  Schedule yourself early in the week to get the best assignments, and by Wednesday at the latest to avoid the telephone calls. You may also schedule yourself for as many weeks in advance as you want!

When you sign up, your name will show up in BLUE.  When your request is approved, it will be changed to BLACK.  Check your assignment request the day before your match.  It is possible (though unlikely) that you may have been moved to another match at the same time in order to meet the needs of the region (and help the kids!).  Of course, we will try to honor all requests.

Go to: http://www.cgisports.com/ayso121/

Logon using the following:
Username = ref121 (case sensitive)
Use the password provided by your Referee Scheduler.

Enter one or more of the items on the left -- Category (division), Date, Game Time, Location, or Name (referee name). Then press the View Records button.

Assignments already taken display the referee's name. All open referee assignments will display an empty text box. Simply enter your name into the desired slots (one or more), and press the 'Make Request' button at the bottom of the page.

If you have any difficulties or questions, contact the referee scheduler.

Please help us by using this system before Wednesday of each week! And you may also schedule yourself for as many weeks in advance as you want!

Thank you,
